OBITUARY
Arthur R. Hall Jr. 86, died Wednesday morning at Geisinger Community Hospital after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Vitaletti Hall, who passed away a little over a year ago. They were married for 62 years and are now reunited.
Son of the late Arthur R Hall Sr and Amelia Hall, he was a graduate of Dickson City High School and Johnson College, a proud Army veteran, and a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church. Arthur was a proud co-founder and co-owner of Jolar Machine Co., which he founded with his childhood friends, Leonard and Joseph Lupini. He worked at Jolar for over 50 years, and his heart was filled with pride when his son Arthur III stepped into his place.
Art was a pillar of his community, serving on Dickson City Council and with the Dickson City Community Club for many years. During his time in civic service he founded and led the Dickson City Shade Tree Committee.
An avid golfer and golf historian, Art was a long-time member of Elmhurst Country Club. He loved talking about golf, whether it was his latest round or yours. Art was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
He is survived by his son Arthur III and wife Lynn of Dickson City; his two daughters, Dawn Karam and husband Jerry, and Jennifer Hall and husband Matt Rowley of Boston, MA; eight grandchildren, Camille, Frankie and Alexander Karam, and Arthur IV, Benny and Caroline Hall, Amelia and Miles Rowley; a brother, Robert, and several beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Art loved being out back in his yard or working in his garage full of used wonders. He was a passionate animal lover and dog adopter.
Art’s family would like to thank the staff at the Gardens at Greenridge for their kind and compassionate care over the last year.
