ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Flames were seen shooting up to the roof of an Allentown home Saturday morning, according to Allentown Fire Chief Agosto.

A Facebook post by Allentown Mayor Matt Tuerk says the blaze in the 600 block of South 6th Street also caused minor injuries to two firefighters.

The fire began in one of the twin home units, and spread to the other which was vacant.

One person was displaced as a result of the fire.

Officials plan to close the section of South 6th Street temporarily to allow UGI to shut of the gas, after which crews will demolish the building.
