BEND, Ore. — The 4th annual Flannel Fest brought winter ales, raffles, and plenty of plaid to Midtown Yacht Club on Saturday, raising money and donations for Bethlehem Inn and running until 6 p.m.
The free festival featured ales and ciders from local and regional breweries, with each purchase earning a raffle ticket for brewery-branded flannels. Donation raffles throughout the day raised funds for Bethlehem Inn, and guests brought warm clothing and pantry items.
Co-sponsored by Cascade Lakes Brewing, the event included nonalcoholic hot beverages, a most-flannel-wearing contest, and, new this year, a flannel-themed canine contest.
Brian Yaeger, head of Grand Craft Beer, said the event was about fun and giving back. “Every donation in cash, canned goods, or clothing helps provide staples for our houseless community as winter deepens,” he said. “It’s a way to be festive, enjoy winter drinks, and do it all for a great cause.”
Jordon Walker, volunteer communications manager for Bethlehem Inn, added, “Many people bring donations we need. We serve over 100,000 meals each year, and we also hand out clothes to shelter guests and others in the community who need extra support.”
