READING, Pa. – A Berks County community came together on Saturday to make sure people experiencing homelessness have everything they need to survive the cold.

Organizations held their first annual Code Blue Giveaway.

They also called it a “scarf bombing.”

That’s when volunteers give out handmade scarves, hats, and other items to people in need for free.

The group also gave out food, coats, sleeping bags, and even dog food for those with pets.
