When I was thinking about where to eat one day last week, I thought about places I hadn’t been to in a bit.
There are so many, especially since work keeps me busy into the early evening hours most days.
On Thursday, I was done at a normal time. Oscar and I decided to head to Harvest Seasonal Grill on Montage Mountain.
First, though, we had a stop at Ken Pollock Volvo on Route 315 in Pittston Township for Oscar to pick up a beautiful new Volvo XC90 he purchased.
It was a super smooth process led by our friend Gino Ginocchetti and sales specialist Eric Peters. The two were like a dynamic duo, making sure everything went fast and simply.
We synced up all the necessities — Bluetooth, music and apps — then headed on our way.
Harvest is a place where you always feel special, from the first “Hello, gentlemen” when you walk in the door.
I love the farm-to-table concept and try to find restaurants like that wherever I go.
The seasonal menu also appeals to me; it’s neat to have different options depending on the time of year.
The whole menu at Harvest right now is enchanting — from the Butternut Squash Soup and Winter Hummus to the Thai Chicken Lettuce Wraps.
We opted for the roasted Brussels sprouts appetizer, which are done in a cranberry-apple relish, toasted pumpkin seed and citrus garlic yogurt. They didn’t last long.
Admittedly, I was super hungry on this particular night, but I tried to take my time and savor the flavors.
For dinner, we both chose the Sesame Chicken. It’s several pieces of chicken with Jasmine rice, seasonal Asian vegetables, scallion, cilantro, and ginger tamari glaze.
We both appreciated the taste, color, and fullness of the dish.
Other entrée options included the Wine-Braised Short Rib, Cedar Plank Salmon, and the Pennsylvania Prime New York Strip.
There were also plant-based bowls that looked neat, such as the Cuban Black Bean Bowl and Winter Root Vegetable Bowl.
Of course, this is all complemented by the huge seasonal drink menu consisting of fun cocktails, wine flights, and champagne.
The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and cozy, and I can honestly say the staff makes you feel special.
Next time you’re near Montage Mountain in Moosic, consider a stop at Harvest for a seasonal dish or drink.
