The Miss Berks County Scholarship Organization held its annual scholarship competition Saturday at Oley Valley Middle School, bestowing titles on eight young women.
Six women were crowned, with each earning a $500 scholarship and a chance to compete in the Miss Pennsylvania Competition in York in June:
• Miss Berks County — Bailey Godfrey, 24, of Philadelphia, a Wake Forest University graduate.
• Miss Greater Reading — Ritika Malik, 25, of Philadelphia, a Master’s degree student at Columbia University.
• Miss Pretzel City — Cassidy McNew, 20, of Hanover, Millersville University student.
• Miss Overall Talent Award — Kristen Griffiths, 19, of New Holland, a Lebanon Valley College student.
• Miss Overall Interview Award — Taelor Martin, 18, of Quarryville, a Clemson University student.
• Chris Biese Memorial Scholarship — Mia High, 20, of State College, a Pennsylvania State University student.
Two teens were also crowned during the event, each earning a $335 scholarship to New York City Dance Alliance Convention:
• Miss Berks County’s Teen — Leighton Matlock, 14, of Gilbertsville.
• Miss Greater Reading’s Teen — Addison Canales, 17 of New Oxford.
