UPPER BERN TWP., Pa. – Officials confirm that the U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE) has purchased a warehouse located in northern Berks County.

Andrew Hoffman, who serves as solicitor for Upper Bern Township, confirmed ICE purchased the GACSD warehouse located in the 3500 block of Mountain Road.

The township was not involved in the transfer, according to Hoffman, and has not received any applications from either the prior or new owners regarding the future use of the property.

Berks County officials also say they were not informed until Monday morning and had no prior knowledge of the sale or information on future plans for the site, referring all additional inquiries to the Department of Homeland Security.

Online property records list the sale price of the warehouse at $87,402,500.
