From Salisbury Township to Bethlehem, Pottstown, Pottsville, Lower Saucon and Easton.

“It’s happening everywhere right now,” said Salisbury Township Police Sergeant Bryan Losagio.

Water main breaks keep popping up amid these frigid temperatures.

“We received a report of a water main break earlier today in the 400 block of East Emmaus Avenue,” said Sergeant Losagio.

Sergeant Losagio blocked off the traffic while crews made repairs on East Emmaus Avenue.

“So, they have to dig out part of the road to repair the pipe, put everything back together,” Sergeant Losagio explains.

Brad Braverman said it was around 5 a.m. when he noticed no water pressure at his East Boulevard Bethlehem home.

“I saw a flood down the street,” said Braverman.

That is when he called the water department.

“I say ‘there’s water blowing up everywhere’, she says ‘blowing up, what do you mean?’ I go, ‘there’s water everywhere’,” said Braverman.

This main break has been repaired.

According to the public works department, eight customers are currently under a boil water advisory in Bethlehem.

“We like to call this our main break season,” said Taylor Stakes, director of communications at Lehigh County Authority. “A lot of our guys who work in the field and repair main breaks are saying this has been one of the toughest years as far as main breaks goes, just because how cold it’s gotten and how long it’s been cold,” said Stakes.

If one happens, you can help.

“The best thing that anybody can do is if you see water in the street bubbling, give us a call or the water utility a call,” said Stakes.
