The SEPTA new Regional Rail schedules went into effect on Sunday, Feb. 1. The changes include minor adjustments on the Wilmington, Trenton, and Chestnut Hill East lines, and a higher frequency on direct service from Wayne Junction to Philadelphia International Airport.

As NBC10 Philadelphia noted, SEPTA will roll out newly acquired MARC (Maryland Area Rail Commuter) rail cars and some locomotive-hauled trains to boost capacity during the morning and evening rush hours. SEPTA believes these changes will permit more cars per train, reduce crowding, and minimize skipped stops.
