WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. – A Lehigh Valley plant business is closing one location to focus on another.

A year-old location of The Wicked Botanist will close permanently at 1133 Third St. in Whitehall Township, according to an announcement on the business’ social media pages.

A closing date will be announced soon.

The Wicked Botanist’s location at 267 E. Broad St. in Bethlehem will continue to operate as normal.

“Though the thrifty side was very fun, overall it is getting harder to keep things moving in the right direction,” the announcement reads.

“So after much contemplation I have decided to close and just focus on our Bethlehem store. Last day will be announced soon. For now go grab some amazing clothes/accessories at extraordinary prices! We are sorry for the sad news.”

The Wicked Botanist, a plant nursery offering a wide selection of plants, plant accessories and gifts, originated in March 2021 in Bethlehem.

Owner Dawn Ash stocks The Wicked Botanist with a vast assortment of plants – from common, easy-to-maintain house plants to rare and exotic varieties.

The Whitehall location also offers thrifted clothing and shoes.

Ash, a lifelong plant lover, is also heavily involved in the Lehigh Valley plant scene, organizing local festivals such as the Lehigh Valley Wicked Plant Festival, featuring around 80 plant and other retail vendors, artisans, food trucks, live music and other entertainment, at the SteelStacks campus in south Bethlehem.
