Paul Bechtoldt has been charged with terroristic threats.

LACKAWANNA COUNTY, Pa. — A man from Lackawanna County has been charged after allegedly threatening to shoot up a protest last weekend.

Authorities say Paul Bechtoldt, 72, told a post office employee in Peckville on Saturday that he was “going to go to Scranton to shoot up the ‘No Kings’ protesters.”

The employee called 911. Bechtoldt later told police he was joking.

Bechtoldt is charged with terroristic threats.
