A Scranton man was found “covered in blood” with a bleeding head wound after being attacked by five people at an Academy Street lounge early Sunday, Wilkes-Barre police said.
Officers were dispatched to the MofonLounge Mofongo Mocano at 120 Academy St. at 6:50 a.m. Sunday to a report of an assault. However, everyone police contacted at the scene denied knowledge of any assault taking place, police said.
About a half hour later, police were dispatched to the 100 block of Old River Road, where they found the 33-year-old Scranton man bleeding from his head.
The man, who was not identified, was “covered in blood” and had a cut on the top of his head, police said.
The victim reported having been inside the lounge playing billiards when five unknown men approached him and began assaulting him with various objects.
