Syracuse, N.Y. — A stretch of Erie Boulevard West was closed early Tuesday morning due to an accident, deputies said.

Erie Boulevard West is closed between West Genesee Street and South Geddes Street, according to Thomas Newton, a spokesperson for the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office.

The road has been closed since about 2:45 a.m., according to 511NY reports. Drivers are being urged to use alternate routes and expect delays.

The roadway is expected to reopen around 9 a.m., Newton said.
