Police investigating death of Lower Heidelberg Township woman

Police are investigating the death of a Lower Heidelberg Township woman found dead in her home Saturday.

Township police responded to a home in the 600 block of Fairmont Avenue at 7:11 p.m. Saturday for a report of an unresponsive woman.

Officers found Candice Riehl, 53, dead inside the home. Riehl was the sole resident of the home.

An autopsy is scheduled to take place Wednesday at Reading Hospital.

Township police and detectives from the Berks County District Attorney’s Office are investigating Riehl’s death.
