Bethlehem Central School District voters on Tuesday overwhelmingly approved a $60 million capital project vote.

The referendum passed 1,450 to 352, or 80% to 20%, according to the district. The result includes all votes, including absentee and early mail ballots cast.

The money will go toward modernizing more than 50 classrooms, adding air conditioning in areas, improving infrastructure and safety at seven schools and more.

Construction is expected to be completed in phases beginning in 2027, with completion expected in 2029.

“We are extremely grateful for the community’s support of this investment in our schools,” Superintendent Jody Monroe said. “Maintaining, modernizing and improving our facilities is essential to our mission. Classroom comfort, welcoming spaces and sound structures will serve generations of BC students.”
