The postseason for the 2025-26 high school boys basketball season is just about here.
Around the Lehigh Valley, the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference and Colonial League tournaments begin Friday, and then next week you have playoff games on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
And, it’s not just postime aound here. League and district tournaments are about to begin across the state.
Who are the teams to keep an eye on?
Once again, local basketball guru Toomey Anderson, with his network of contacts from all over the eastern half of the state, has provided rankings for all six PIAA classifications for teams in the East. That means teams from Districts 1, 2, 3, 4, 11, and 12 are considered. Take a look:

Notes: Parkland earns a spot in the rankings as the defending District 11 champs are beginning to put the pieces together after a slow start. And slow-paced basketball was the story as the Trojans beat Imhotep 36-34 in the Lehigh Valley Hoopfest on Sunday. Blake Nassry was the MVP of that game and then came back with 34 points in the regular-season finale against Allentown Dieruff.  Derrick Morton-Rivera broke Father Judge’s all-time scoring record, passing Marc Rodriguez’s previous mark of 1,260. Towson commit Mani Sajid became Plymouth-Whitemarsh all-time leading scorer. He has 1,649 points and counting.

Notes: Bonner defeated Roman Catholic, 71-59, led by 2027 high major recruit Korey Francis, who scored 28 points. Jordan Shaffer is averaging 19.3 ppg as Abington Heights has not lost in 2026, winning 10 in a row. Shaffer had 21 in a win over Scranton. West York has won 13 straight since its loss to Central Dauphin on Dec. 29, and none of them have been closer than 12 points. The Bulldogs are 12-0 in Division 2 of the York-Adams League and ranked third in District 3 behind the Hershey teams.

Notes: Berks Catholic defeated Reading 68-47 as Colgate commit Kingston McKoy scored 22 points.Archbishop Carroll junior Nick Jugendo and senior Drew Carrao combined for 28 points in a 59-52 win over Neumann-Goretti. It was Carroll’s first regular-season victory over the Saints since 2001. While District 11 has been dominated Allentown Central Catholic and Bethlehem Catholic over the years, Colonial League member might break through and earn the suburban Allentown program its first district title since 2011.

Notes: Riverside junior Brayden Rose scored 37 points and went over the 1,000-point mark in his career in an 87-35 rout of Honesdale. Executive beat Lincoln Leadership 85-58 for coach Ray Barbosa’s 200th career win. Barbosa, a 2,202-point scorer in his playing days at Allentown Allen, is in his eighth season at Executive after posting a record of 64-22 in three seasons at Bethlehem Catholic. Babosa’s teams have won eight district titles and are back in contention for another D11 gold after being ineligible last season. Notre Dame-Green Pond, which hasn’t lost since a Christmas tournament loss to Pope John Paul II, could be the biggest obstacle for Executive. Eshaan Tung had 29 and Jaxon Loper added 26 in the win over Lincoln.

The Bulldogs play at Minersville Thursday night to close the regular season, and they will be a team to watch in the Schuylkill League tournament. Delone Catholic continued the best start in school history wth a 79-36 rout of Camp Hill on Monday. Liam O’Brien led Delone with 28 points, and Luke Rebert chipped in 18.

Notes: Junior Maurice Barnes led Chester Charter with 24 points in a win over MaST Charter. Bethlehem Christian has had several wins over schools in higher classifications this season, but arguably its biggest came on Tuesday night when it beat Executive Education 70-67 at Executive. Gettysburg and Bethlehem Christian commit Gabe Transue needed eight points to reach 2,000 points in his career, and he had 11 in the first quarter and finished with 30. He became the ninth player in Lehigh Valley-area boys basketball history to reach 2,000. Junior Deion Swift added 28 for the Panthers, who improved to 19-2 and who have only lost to 6A Nazareth and 4A Allentown Central Catholic.
