CATASAUQUA, Pa. – Police in Catasauqua are investigating and incident in which a student was found in possession of a firearm on school grounds.
Around 1 p.m. this afternoon, Catasauqua Police were called to Innovative Arts Academy in the 300 block of Howertown Road for a report of a student with a gun.
Police say school officials secured the weapon prior to their arrival. Responding officers then took possession of the firearm.
The name and age of the student involved have not been released at this time.
Police say the incident remains under investigation and there is no danger to the public or school community at this time.
