Madeline ‘Madge’ O. Miller
OBITUARY
Madeline Madge O. Miller of Orwigsburg, PA, passed away peacefully on February 2nd, 2026. Madge was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and she will be deeply missed.
Madge was born, October 22, 1932, in Glenburn Twp. PA. She was the second of two children to John Ondrick and Mary (Gaidula) Ondrick (brother to late George Ondick).
She graduated from Clark Summit High School in 1950. Madge dedicated her life to her family, friends, and golf…not always in that order.
Madge went on to work for Abington Heights School District then The Globe Store. Madge spent many summers playing golf with Tony at the Scranton Canoe Club where she won handful of club titles in the 70s and was a member of BGA golf league. In 1993 she moved to Orwigsburg, PA and worked at Blue Mountain Cable until her retirement where she remained active with grandchildren, friends, and yes golf. The love of golf never left her, spending her children’s inheritance playing it well into her 80’s.
She had a brief stint rolling cigars at a factory in Scranton, PA before meeting her husband, the late Anthony (Tony) Miller. Married in 1954 she became a loving mother to Michele Mather of Coudersport PA. Cindy Heckrote, wife of Rick of Schuylkill Haven and Richard Miller husband to Cheryl of Pen Argyl, PA. She is also survived by grandchildren Matthew Mather, husband to Miriam, of Chesapeake, VA, Brynn Heckrote of Brooklyn NY, Kelcey Heckrote Petty wife of Dan of Leesport, PA and Jessica Miller of Pen Argyl, PA and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her favorite niece, Patty Miller Bowers.
