LANSDALE, Pa. – Multiple residents are displaced after an apartment fire in Lansdale, Montgomery County.
Officers from the Lansdale Police Department responded to a report of smoke in Building “E” at the Oakwood Gardens Apartments shortly before 4 a.m. Thursday, according to a news release from borough police.
Arriving officers assisted residents from Buildings “D” and “E” with evacuations.
Borough police say the fire was brought under control at approximately 5:08 a.m.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
People from approximately 12 residential units were displaced as a result of the fire, according to the news release.
With assistance from SEPTA, displaced residents were taken to an evacuation center established at Lansdale Catholic High School.
Borough police said the center was staffed by the American Red Cross and the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety, Division of Emergency Management.
The Red Cross is assisting affected residents with both short-term and long-term housing needs, as well as other services.
No injuries were reported, police said.
