EASTON, Pa.- A marathon public hearing about a proposed six-story building in Easton will continue next week.
The hearing concerns a mixed-use apartment building being pitched for 70 N. Fourth St. There would be 34 apartments in the building, as well as nearly 1,200 square feet of retail space.
The developer, 74 N 4th LLC, is seeking several variances, including permission to put up a building that’s more than 15% bigger than the properties around it. The parcel is currently a parking lot.
Easton’s Zoning Hearing Board initially heard four hours of testimony about the plan back in December, before deciding to continue the hearing on Feb. 10.
Residents previously expressed concerns about the size of the building and the lack of parking around it. The plans were first pitched in 2024; at that time, the developer was proposing 43 apartments.
The hearing on Tuesday will begin at 6:00 pm on the third floor of Easton City Hall at 123 S. 3rd St.
