Several projects to repair and fortify bridges in the northwest region to prevent future flooding are still open for the public to view and comment on. These projects can be found on the PennDOT website. Those unable to access the information online may give feedback by contacting PennDOT Project Manager Matthew P. 28 structures in Crawford, Erie, Forest, Mercer, Venango, and Warren counties will receive bridge repairs. The repairs will depend on the needs of each location. The repairs will tend to the underneath or adjacent parts of bridges to provide including activities like rock protection, streambed paving, concrete placement, repairs to deteriorated concrete, and removal, clearing and grubbing. Some minor guiderail repairs might be included if needed.

No detours are expected while repairs are taking place. The repairs will begin in 2026 and are expected to continue until 2029. Federal funds will cover the costs of the repairs which are expected to cost between $2.5 million to $5 million.

The proposed project includes the following structures:

Crawford County (7 bridges)

Route 27 (Washington Street) over Little Sugar Creek, East Mead Township (two bridges).

Route 285 (Center Street) over Adsit Run, Greenwood Township.

Route 322 (28th Division Highway) over Shenango River Tributary, West Shenango Township.

Conneautville Road (Route 4003) over Foster Run, Summerhill Township.

Mystic Park Road (Route 1011) over Oil Creek, Steuben Township.

Turkey Track Road (Route 4006) over Turkey Track Run, Conneaut Township.

Erie County (12 bridges)

Route 5 (East Lake Road) over Eight Mile Creek, Harborcreek Township.

Route 5 (West Lake Road) over Crooked Creek, Springfield Township.

Route 20 (Buffalo Road) over Eight Mile Creek, Harborcreek Township.

Route 20 (Buffalo Road) over Six Mile Creek, Harborcreek Township.

Route 20 (East Buffalo Road) over Sixteen Mile Creek, Northeast Township.

Route 20 (Ridge Road) over Trout Run, Fairview Township.

Route 20 (Ridge Road) over Walnut Creek, Fairview Township.

Route 426 (Findley Lake Road) over Sixteen Mile Creek, North East Township.

Route 430 (Station Road) over Four Mile Creek, Wesleyville Borough / Harborcreek Township.

Route 505 (Perry Highway) over Mill Creek, Millcreek Township (two bridges).

Route 699 (Main Street) over Elk Creek, McKean Township.

Forest County (3 bridges)

Route 36 (Col. Drake Highway) over Hunter Run, Tionesta Township.

Route 666 (David Zeisburger Highway) over Little Minister Run, Kingsley Township.

Route 666 (David Zeisburger Highway) over Bush Run, Howe Township.

Mercer County (1 bridge)

Venango County (1 bridge)

Warren County (4 bridges)

Route 6 (Grand Army of the Republic Highway) over Dutchmans Run. Mead Township.

Route 27 (Enterprise Road) over Pine Creek, Southwest Township.

Route 957 (Russel Lander Road) over Kiantone Creek, Farmington Township.

Hessel Valley Road (Route 4010) over Jackson Run, Sugar Grove Township.

 There is section 4(f) involvement at three of the bridge locations:

Crawford County – Route 322 over Shenango River Tributary. There will be minor, temporary right of way impacts to Pymatuning State Park. There will be no impacts to recreational areas.

Crawford County – Mystic Park Road over Oil Creek. There will be minor temporary impacts to the Oil Creek designated Water Trail. Impacts will be minimized by using an approved Aids to Navigation Plan.

Forest County – Route 666 over Little Minister Run. There will be minor, temporary impacts to the Army Corps of Engineers property. There will be no impacts to recreational areas.
