Jane E. Vassallo
OBITUARY
Jane E. Vassallo, 84, of Lenox Township, died peacefully on Thursday at Allied Hospice, Scranton, with her devoted son by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Frank P. Vassallo on March 17, 2020.
Born July 8, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Veda Kropiewnicki Obst.
Jane was raised in Brooklyn, NY, and later settled in Sellersville where she cherished being a devoted wife and mother to her husband and son. Upon retirement, she and her husband retired to Lenox Township where they enjoyed its rural country lifestyle. Jane was a devout Catholic and found comfort in praying the rosary.
Michael extends his gratitude to the staff at the Forest City Nursing Home and Geisinger-CMC ER, for their kind and compassionate care to his mother.
She is survived by her son: Michael L. Vassallo of Thornhurst; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Fred; and two sisters: Vera and Anna.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, with Rev. August A. Ricciardi, officiating. Spring interment, Willow View Cemetery, Clifford.
Viewing hours will be held Tuesday from 2-4 p.m.
