For another year, a former Pittsburgh Steelers player or coach is guaranteed to win a Super Bowl title. With the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks suiting up on Sunday to decide the Super Bowl Champion, a litany of former Steelers connections dot both sidelines.

On the Patriots, the most obvious two connections are that of former Steelers linebacker Robert Spillane, a prominent starter on the Patriots defense, and head coach Mike Vrabel, who was a linebacker for the Steelers under Bill Cowher. Quarterback Josh Dobbs was drafted by the team in 2017, and has hopped around the league since.

Either way, the Steelers have three obvious connections in the Patriots organization and on the field.

As for the Seahawks, wide receiver Cody White spent multiple years on the Steelers’ roster fringe and on their practice squad as a special teamer.

He headed to Seattle for a new lease on life two seasons ago, and has stuck around in the Emerald City.

White made two catches for 44 yards, including a toe-tapping 28-yard catch on third-and-long to keep the game-tying drive going in regulation in 2024. That catch came directly after White blocked a Rams punt, too.

White is currently battling an injury, but he made a Week 1 53-man roster for the first time in his career this year.
