Here are the food safety inspection reports from Lehigh and Northampton counties, conducted the week of Jan. 25.
Each week, we highlight the inspection reports provided through the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. The department performs the inspections in many areas, while some municipalities such as Allentown and Bethlehem conduct their own inspections.
All establishments are inspected once per year, and inspectors may return several more times if the initial inspection is not passed or complaints are received. (For more information on how food safety inspections are conducted in Pennsylvania, view a list of FAQs.)
As noted by the Department of Agriculture, the reports are merely a “snapshot” in time, and they may not be representative of the restaurant’s long-term condition. Many of the violations are corrected on the spot prior to the inspector leaving the establishment.
If a food provider is considered “out of compliance,” that means it has one or more violations that require a return visit by an inspector. The establishment is given time to fix the violations and remains open for business.

A fruit preparation and packaging area was observed in the loading area of the facility and lacks a convenient handwash sink. Move fruit preparation area to a part of the facility serviced by a handwash sink.
Interior walls, plastic curtains, and floor of meat walk-in cooler were observed with accumulation of residue. Clean and maintain these areas.
Food facility does not provide lockers or storage for food employee personal food and possessions as evidenced by employee food and possessions being stored at fruit preparation area. Provide area for employees to store personal belongings and food separate from food facility’s product.
Meat slicer, a food contact surface, was observed to have food residue and was not clean to sight and touch. Wash, rinse, and sanitize all food contact surfaces after each use.
The handwash sink in the meat prep walk-in cooler was blocked by a trashcan and not accessible at all times for employee use. Ensure handwash sinks are always accessible.
Mouse droppings observed in rear storage area. Area could not be inspected further due to accumulation of backstock. Organize backstock to prevent rodent harborage and clean droppings to allow for activity monitoring.
