One person injured in Erie St. fire

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A house fire that injured one person inside is being investigated Monday morning.

Two people were inside the Erie St. home at the time of the fire. One of them needed to be taken to the hospital, while the other got out safely.

The call came in around 3:45 a.m. for a house fire on Erie near the intersection with Bush.

Firefighters on the scene said that a hot plate being left on could be the potential cause of the fire.

The incident remains under investigation.
