DUNMORE, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — Authorities in Lackawanna County are investigating a shooting on Sunday evening that left one man dead.
According to the Dunmore Borough Police Department, officers responded to a residence along the 400 block of Mortimer Street for a report of a domestic disturbance.
A male, later identified as 47-year-old Frederick Zantowsky, Jr., was located at the scene with a single gunshot wound. He was taken to Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton, where he later died.
The shooter was located at the same address and was detained by police before later being released pending investigation. Police said the individual was cooperative .
The cause and manner of death are yet to be determined by the coroner’s office.
