Police apprehended a person Monday afternoon after they attempted to run from the scene after hitting a pedestrian with their vehicle in Pittsburgh’s North Side. Pittsburgh Public Safety officials said in a post that authorities were called to East Ohio Street and East Street at 2:45 p.m. following reports of a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian. Medics said the victim, an unidentified man, was taken to the hospital from the scene. They were last said to be in stable condition. The driver of the vehicle attempted to leave the scene on foot and was later taken into custody by police a short distance away on Tripoli Street. No additional details have been provided.
