Weyerbacher’s primary taproom and production space, a 30,000-square-foot facility at 905 Line St. on Easton’s South Side, and Weyerbacher’s Allentown Taproom & Biergarten at 448 N. 17th St. will continue to operate as normal.

Weyerbacher’s Emmaus Taproom announced its upcoming closure on the business’ social media pages.

“This decision was not ours,” the online post reads.

“Our lease will not be renewed, and despite our best efforts, our hands are tied. It’s a tough moment for all of us who have poured time, energy, and love into making this taproom a true community home.”

Weyerbacher’s Emmaus Taproom opened in June 2024 in space that was previously home to Yergey Brewing and Funk Brewing.

Yergey moved to a larger space at 235 Main St. in Emmaus in 2021, and Funk moved its taproom back to its redesigned brewery at 19 S. Sixth St. in Emmaus in 2024.

Weyerbacher’s Emmaus Taproom offers the brewery’s award-winning craft beers on draft and in cans and bottles.

“I want to express my deepest gratitude to every single person who has supported us — whether you stopped in for a beer, came out for trivia, shared a laugh, or helped us build the atmosphere that made this place special,” the Emmaus Taproom’s closing announcement continues. “You are the reason this taproom became what it is.”

Within an hour of its posting, the closing announcement garnered more than 100 reactions and comments, primarily from community members lamenting the upcoming closure.

“What a disappointment!” one person stated. “Always loved going there.”

“Very sad this has become a weekly stop for my wife and I,” another person commented.

“We are sad to hear this,” another person stated. “My husband’s favorite brewery and so close to us. We love taking our dog there too. I hope there is another location you will open in the area.”

Weyerbacher celebrated its 30th anniversary last summer.

Savant Beverages LLC, under CEO Ed Lozano, purchased the beermaker in 2022.

“We’ve got a lot of customers who are really rooting for us, and I think that’s what has helped us get to the 30th anniversary,” Lozano told 69 News last year, “because if those customers didn’t come back, we wouldn’t be celebrating our 30th anniversary.”

“But they’ve come back. They gave us confidence. They trusted us to deliver.”
