How were you and your teammates able to successfully tackle such a tough schedule last week: A couple weeks back, we lost to North Pocono and Valley View in their gyms. Ever since then, we’ve been super-motivated to start winning. This week we had a super-tough schedule. We just took it one game at a time, worked super-hard in practice, stayed focused and got those wins. We focused on our defense. Defensive stops lead to offensive points, so we really worked hard on our defense. Every team we played, they have pretty good players. So we knew we had to lock them up and execute on offense. We did that.

Against Valley View, you had 17 of you’re 31 points in the first half. Talk about that strong start: We still had a bad taste in our mouth when we lost at their place. We just came out with a lot of energy in the first half. Coach always says, ‘Get it in the first four minutes.’ We came out and my teammates were finding me inside. Executing on the offensive end, pointing out the mismatches we had and getting easy buckets.

You had 10 of you 16 points in the second half against Abington Heights. How did you overcome a slow start: It was tough finding my spot to get shots up. In the first half I wasn’t really getting my spot or getting inside really. Second half, I just tried to get on the boards more, get some putbacks and do what I can. That’s what you have to do in games like that when shots aren’t falling.

How about being tied for first place in the division heading into the final week of the regular season: Our main goal is winning a league championship. We’re looking forward to this week. We have two games left and we’re going to work super hard to get better, come out with two more wins hopefully and then look forward to a playoff with North Pocono.

Goals for the rest of the season: A league championship and then a district championship. We want to get to the arena and get a win there. Then make it as far as we can in states and see how it goes from there.

Scranton Prep has won eight straight division titles. What would it mean to win a ninth: It means a lot to the program, winning a league championship. There’s a huge chip on our shoulder to win another one for the girls in the past who won eight straight. We want to keep that tradition going. There’s a lot of pressure, but I think we can do it.

What are some of the things in your game you worked on from last year as a freshman to this year as a sophomore: I have a different role on the team this year after we graduated our five starters. I’ve tried to work outside more a little bit to see if I can get downhill a little bit. Also, stay inside and post up when we have a mismatch and my teammates find me in there. And, being more aggressive defensively and getting stops on defense.

Other sports I play: Soccer

Favorite team: UConn women’s basketball

Favorite food: Steak

Cake or pie: Cake

Favorite school subject: English. It’s pretty straightforward. Just reading and then answering questions about the reading.

Athletes I admire: Sarah Strong, who plays for UConn. I like the way she plays. She can step outside and shoot the three at her size and also get inside, make a move and get a bucket at any given time.

Superstitions and rituals: I like to eat pasta before every game. Also, in the locker room before going out on the court, I splash cold water on my face. It wakes me up. We do a team prayer, but I also like to say a prayer to myself during the national anthem.

If I could have any superpower, it would be: Invisibility

One word that best describes me: Determined

App I use the most on my phone: TikTok

Three people I’d like to have dinner with: Steph Curry, Adam Sandler, Jennifer Lawrence

Future plans: I definitely want to play basketball at the next level. I’ve been thinking about it recently, but I haven’t figured out yet what I want to do or study.
