PITTSBURGH, PA — Drink a toast to your town. Pittsburgh is one of 20 cities across the nation competing for a USA Today 10Best award for having the best beer scenes in the nation.
The nominees were curated by a group of beer experts.
According to USA Today, nominated cities have stellar collections of established and up-and-coming breweries, beer bars, brewpubs, beer festivals, and even thriving homebrewing communities
where novice brewers can get their foot in the door.
Here’s what USA Today had to say about the city’s beer scene:
“Pittsburgh is a beer-drinking town — there are over 40 breweries to choose from, such as Grist House, known for its flagship Hazedelic Juice Grenade New England IPA, and Dancing Gnome, famed for its hazy and citrusy New England IPAs.
“While Pittsburgh offers an array of annual beer festivals, Barrel & Flow Festival is particularly excellent — over 3,000 participants come together to celebrate Black-owned breweries around the country.”
