Roy Ayala had a record-smashing night as West Scranton earned a 99-76 win over Elk Lake on Tuesday in a Lackawanna League boys’ swim meet.

The senior won the 100-yard butterfly in 53.88, breaking the school record of 54.42 held by Jerry Patrick Jr., which stood since 1982. Roy Ayala also set a West Scranton Intermediate Pool Record in the 100 breaststroke with his winning time of 1;00.66. That beat his pool record of 1:01.17 set earlier this season.

Jordan Ayala won two individual events (200 IM and 100 free). He and his brother were also teammates on winning relays (200 medley and 200 free ).

Isaiah Jones won the 200 free and the 500 free for Elk Lake.

Girls swimming

Brynn Warriner, Avery Kerr, and Chelsea Grosvenor won two individual events and contributed to relay wins as Elk Lake defeated West Scranton, 113-51, in a Lackawanna League girls’ swim meet.

Allison Long and Alayana Stang added individual wins and contributed to victorious relay teams for Elk Lake, which finished the season with a 6-3 record.

Elle Brewster won diving for West Scranton.
