(WKBN) – Two local Pennsylvania counties will be getting federal money for projects.

The money is part of nearly $300 million supporting 121 projects in 42 of Pennsylvania’s counties.

In Mercer County, the Hermitage Municipal Authority is getting $913,600 for sewer upgrades. The money will go toward installing monitoring alarms and other upgrades to sewers in the Wheatland neighborhood.

In Lawrence County, the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs is getting $6.5 million. It will go toward the design of a new readiness center for the Pennsylvania National Guard.

“Bringing money back to PA is one of my core responsibilities as the senior senator,” U.S. Senator John Fetterman said. “I’m proud of the work our community is doing and believe this funding will continue to show why Pennsylvania is a leader on all fronts.”

The projects will help the Commonwealth’s economic development, improve communities and invest in future generations.
