A water main that broke Tuesday is still causing issues for thousands in Luzerne and Lackawanna Counties.
LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — PA American Water has been working to repair a water main break in West Pittston. Crews were first called around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Overnight, many more people lost water service.Â
The impacts include many towns throughout Luzerne County, including Pittston, West Pittston, Duryea, Swoyersville, Forty Fort, Exeter, Kingston, Wyoming, and West Wyoming.

Luzerne County Manager, Romilda Crocamo, says the following county buildings are also closed:

A representative with the water company says the break was caused by a contractor digging into the water line.
While repairs are underway, the city of West Pittston is advising residents in the affected area to avoid drinking the water until further notice.Â
