Two 18-year-olds and a juvenile are facing criminal charges after Erie police said a shots-fired investigation on the city’s east side led to a reported robbery and pistol-whipping on Jan. 26.
Roquann D. Price, 18, is accused in a criminal complaint filed Feb. 5 of pistol-whipping a juvenile inside a residence in the 900 block of East Eighth Street after victims in the case said Price entered the house and demanded guns from the victims while threatening the victims and stating he would shoot up the house.
Information in the complaint does not state whether any guns or other items were taken from the victims.
Detectives wrote in the complaint’s affidavit of probable cause that Price was seen in surveillance video parking a vehicle in the 900 block of East Eighth Street before several people are seen getting out of it and running toward the direction of the residence.
Gunshots were then fired, according to police. Officers were initially sent to the area on the evening of Jan. 26 after receiving 911 calls about the shots and a report from the city’s ShotSpotter gunshot detection system, according to police and information in Price’s complaint. Police said they spoke to the teenage victims after arriving in the area.
No one was reported injured by the gunfire.
Price was arraigned Feb. 7 on charges including felony counts of robbery, aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit burglary and carrying a firearm without a license. He is free after posting his $25,000 bail, according to information in his criminal docket sheet.
Also charged by Erie police in the case is 18-year-old Dionne K. Sparks, who was arraigned Feb. 10 on charges including felony counts of robbery and burglary. She is free after posting her bail, according to information in her criminal docket sheet.
