A mother is facing unimaginable heartbreak after losing both of her children just weeks apart.

Patricia Attleberger’s son, 31‑year‑old Jason Firster, was last seen around 10:30 p.m. on January 7 near the Wye Bridge in Oil City, Pennsylvania. His disappearance prompted a multi‑day search of the Allegheny River, and the family is now offering a monetary reward for any information that could help find him.

While they were still searching for answers, Attleberger’s 28‑year‑old daughter, Samantha — a mother of two — unexpectedly passed away after medical complications. Now, Patricia is raising her grandchildren, facing funeral expenses, and continuing the search for her son’s body. She is asking for support through a GoFundMe as she navigates this overwhelming loss and works to rebuild her family’s future.

A spaghetti benefit dinner is also planned for Sunday, February 21, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Oil City Elks Lodge #344. Proceeds will help cover funeral costs, and a lantern vigil will follow at the Wye Bridge.

Anyone with information related to Jason Firster’s disappearance is asked to contact the Oil City Police Department at (814) 678-3080.
