Registration is open for the Pennsylvania Friends of Agriculture Foundation for the 2026 Pennsylvania Ag Literacy Week, scheduled for March.

This year’s featured book is “Cows Can Moo! Can You? All About Farms,” part of The Cat in the Hat’s Learning Library series. The book takes students on a tour of a farm while introducing them to the people, animals and science behind agriculture.

Ag Literacy Week connects volunteers from the agricultural community with classrooms across the state. Volunteers read the featured book, share their experiences and help students understand how agriculture impacts their daily lives.

“Ag Literacy Week is one of our favorite times of the year,” Charlene Shupp Espenshade, Pennsylvania Friends of Agriculture Foundation executive director said. “By placing agricultural books in the hands of teachers and giving students the opportunity to connect with local farmers, we are planting seeds of curiosity and understanding. It’s a simple but powerful way to show children where their food comes from and why agriculture matters.”

Registration is open through Dec. 12. Volunteers and community partners may register and purchase their book and classroom resources online at pfbfriends.com.
