Dunmore wasted little time in capturing another Lackawanna League championship.

The Lady Bucks scored 20 points in each of the first two quarters to build a 26-point halftime lead on their way to a 62-21 victory over host Honesdale that wrapped up the Division II girls basketball title.

It is the 13th consecutive crown and 30th overall for Dunmore. The win also extended its league winning streak to 107 games.

Leena Conte scored all seven of her points in the first quarter and Jackie Brown added six as the Lady Bucks jumped out to a 20-6 lead. Janaya Martin hit two 3-pointers and scored eight points in the second quarter to help Dunmore extend its advantage to 40-14 at halftime.

Defense took over in the third quarter as Dunmore blanked Honesdale, 10-0, to put the game out of reach.

Martin finished with 13 points for the Lady Bucks (13-0 league, 18-3 overall) — 11 of which came in the first half. Brown wound up with 12 points.

Lily Murray led the Lady Hornets (10-3, 16-5) with 12 points.
