READING, Pa. – The Berks County District Attorney revealed more about a raid by detectives that targeted a smoke shop in Reading this week.

At a Monday afternoon news conference, detectives with the Berks County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force said a drug investigation led to the arrest of three people allegedly tied to the sales of illegal THC products at area smoke shops.

The investigation began following complaints that smoke shops were selling illegal, high-potency THC products to juveniles.

Now, authorities say they seized $60,000 worth of items — including 400 drinks containing suspected THC, 300 vapes containing suspected THC and 400 packets of suspected marijuana — from NYC Convenience Store Inc. at 1142 Rockland St.

Three men are charged with multiple drug offenses.

Authorities said this store and Prime Tobacco Zone on Penn Avenue in West Reading sold high-potency THC products to teenagers who became sick.
