Reading’s dog park closed for upgrades at Schlegel Park | Reading Area

READING, Pa. – Reading’s only dog park is temporarily closing while upgrades are being made to Schlegel Park.

The city says temporarily closing Caramel’s Dog Park will allow crews to install new lighting.

The upgrade is part of the city’s Guaranteed Energy Savings Act Sustainability and Modernization Project.

City officials say the lights will improve safety while also saving energy.

The work is expected to be completed by Feb. 18.
