NEW BETHLEHEM – To have some fun with the massive amount of snow the area has received this winter, the Southern Clarion Police Association has planned a fundraising event to give supporters a chance to enter a 50/50 pool to guess when the snow will melt.
Much of the excess snow removed from New Bethlehem streets was piled in the old freight yard between Hunter Way and Arch Street, near First United National Bank.
Now through March 9, tickets are being sold for $5 which gives the buyer a chance to guess when the snow will be completely gone from the old freight yard.
Entry forms can be found at local banks and other businesses, the police station and from police association members. The winning date will be determined in the sole discretion of SCPA.
Similar contests are being arranged in Rimersburg and East Brady. Watch the SCPA Facebook page and website for more information.
