MAIDENCREEK TWP., Pa. – A mini-excavator fell on a person in Berks County Thursday morning, sending the person to the hospital.
Crews were sent to the 100 block of West Wesner Road in Maidencreek Township around 7:45 a.m., according to the Blandon Fire Company.
The fire company says a contractor was delivering the mini-excavator to a home and as they removed it, the mini-excavator tipped over and trapped the operator.
It took about 20 minutes to remove the operator, using cribbing and hydraulics, the fire company said.
The operator was taken to Reading Hospital. A person with the fire company said it is believed the operator’s injuries are non-life-threatening.
