Erie County Representative Ryan Bizzarro has announced that funding will soon be available for local fire and emergency companies in Erie County.
Administered by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner, the Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant program provides funding to fire and EMS companies, and Erie County will receive $113,115.57 for these programs. The funding will be used in these departments for facility and equipment upgrades, recruitment and retention efforts, and education and training.
Belle Valley Fire Department: $13,250.94
Fairview Fire & Rescue: $13,250.94
Kearsarge Fire Department: $13,663.17
Lake Shore Fire Department: $12,632.59
Millcreek Township Bureau of Fire Incident Response: $15,930.44
Millcreek Paramedic Service: $15,000
West Ridge Fire Department: $14,899.86
West Lake Fire Department: $14,487.63
“I’ve always been a staunch supporter of our first responders. They show up on our worst days with courage and professionalism, and they answer the call for help without a second thought,” said Bizzarro, who represents Millcreek and Fairview Townships. “That’s why it’s our responsibility to answer theirs by investing in our first responders, giving them the proper training and equipment needed to keep everyone safe. When we fund our first responders, we strengthen the entire community.”
