PITTSBURGH, PA — A man died Thursday after falling from a building in Downtown Pittsburgh.

Police, Fire, and EMS responded to a 911 call at around 11:01 am., Pittsburgh Public Safety officials said in a social media post. When they arrived, they located the man and pronounced him dead at the scene.

Violent Crime Uniform detectives are investigating the incident, which resulted in the closure of Liberty Avenue between Market Street and Fifth Avenue.

Police did not immediately indicate from which building the man fell or how tall the building is.

They also have yet to indicate whether or not the fall was intentional.

The man’s name has not yet been released by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office.
