Lee H. Posey
OBITUARY
Lee H. Posey, 81, of Cumru Township, passed away Tuesday, February 10,
2026, at 3:30pm at Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Joanne M.
(Kovach) Posey. Born in Reading, Mr. Posey was the son of the late
Harrison Posey III and Gertrude (Zettlemoyer) Posey. He was a member of
Lincoln Park United Methodist Church and served in the United States
Army during the Vietnam Era. Mr. Posey graduated from Governor Mifflin
High School in 1962, received a Bachelor of Science degree in
Mathematics/Physics from Albright College in 1966, and earned his
Master’s Degree in Engineering Science from the Pennsylvania State
University in May 1988. He was employed by AT&T as a computer
engineer until his retirement and then worked as a driver for Piazza Auto
Group in Reading for 10 years. In addition to his wife, Mr. Posey is
survived by his children, Heather J. Kostival, wife of Darren R. Kostival, of
Cumru Township; Alexander T. Posey, husband of Kim M. (Reese) Posey,
of Exeter Township; Alyssa L. Herbert, wife of Donald G. Herbert, of Cumru
Township; Jessica H. Gerhart, wife of Ralph A. Gerhart, Jr., of Robeson
Township, his grandchildren, Daniel, Benjamin, Sierra, Meigin, Lauren,
Emma, Andrew, and Madalynn, and his great grandchildren Brooks and
Elizabeth. He is also survived by his siblings John Posey of Pleasanton,
California, and Susan Stires, wife of Kinne Stires, of Wiscasset, Maine.
Celebration of Life Service will be held at Bean Funeral Homes &
Cremation Services at 129 East Lancaster Avenue, Shillington, PA, on
Monday, February 16, 2026, at 11:30am. Reverend Dr. Quentin Wallace
will officiate. Military Honors will be rendered by the United States Army
Honor Guard at 11:20 am. The family will receive relatives and friends on
Monday from 9:00am to 11:20am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be
