Two children and their father were found dead inside a home following a fire in Indiana County on Friday morning. “It certainly is a heartbreaking situation here this morning in Clymer Borough,” Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Cliff Greenfield said. “It’s a tough situation all around. Our hearts go out to the families involved and the whole Clymer community today.”The Clymer Volunteer Fire Company, along with several additional departments, were dispatched to a fire at a duplex in the 400 block of Hancock Street in Clymer at 4:14 a.m.By the time firefighters arrived, the fire was fully involved, occupying both portions of the duplex. Several people inside the duplex were able to get out safely, but Kirk Lee Fabiszewski and his daughters, ages 4 and 7, became trapped inside. “There were several individuals who fled to safety,” Greenfield said. “Unfortunately, we did have three fatalities.”They were found dead inside the home. State police are investigating what caused the fire and how it started; they do not believe it is suspicious. Officials say the investigation is active and ongoing. “Those families, to my knowledge, are being assisted by relatives,” Greenfield said. “I understand the American Red Cross is also involved. We want to thank our volunteer firefighters for the work that they do, especially in tough situations like this.
