CLEMSON, S.C. – The University of Pennsylvania’s men’s and women’s track and field teams completed day one of the Tiger Paw Invitational on Friday, beginning with a strong showing in the women’s throws.
 
Angeludi Asaah finished second in the women’s shot put, putting a sixth-round season-best mark of 15.07m (49′ 3.5″).
 
Ranked fourth in program history, Ella Neskora recorded a personal-best mark of 18.24m (59′ 10.25″) in the women’s weight throw. 
 
Jailyn Milord clocked a personal-best time of 53.16 in the women’s 400m, ranked second in program history. Ryan Matulonis recorded a time of 46.37 in the men’s race, second-fastest time in program history. 
 
Amelia Kristen finished 10th in the women’s long jump with a distance of 5.76m (18′ 10.75″). 
 
Shane Gardner advanced to the men’s 60m hurdles semifinals placing 17th with a time of 7.79.
 
In Boston, Nick Carpenter crossed the finish line at a time of 8:04.59 in the men’s 3000m. Nicolas Pizarro recorded a season-best 800m time of 1:50.93.
