Jessup

Rigatoni dinner: Queen of Angels Parish will host its annual rigatoni and meatball dinner Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the parish pastoral center (the former St. James Church), 607 Church St., Jessup. This year’s dinner will be drive-thru only (presales preferred). Tickets for adults cost $15; children under 12, $5. Dinner includes rigatoni, meatballs, salad, roll and dessert. Community baby shower: AmeriHealth Caritas Pennsylvania, a Medicaid health plan, will host a special community baby shower, sponsored by its Bright Start program, to help expectant mothers have safe pregnancies and healthy babies, Thursday from noon-2 p.m. at the Salvation Army, 500 S. Washington Ave., Scranton. Bright Start, a maternal health program for AmeriHealth Caritas Pennsylvania pregnant members, provides expectant mothers health information, nutrition advice, and help in choosing an obstetrician or nurse midwife for their prenatal care. Each mom-to-be attending the community baby shower will also receive a gift bag that will contain items that all new moms and babies will need.

Olyphant

Halloween event: Olyphant Neighborhood Watch will be giving candy, hot dogs, hot chocolate and other goodies out Halloween night starting at 5:30 p.m. at Eureka Hose Company 4, 717 E. Grant St.

Regional

Fundraising event: Domestic Violence Service Center fundraising event, A Night at Sabatini’s, Tuesday, 6-9 p.m., Sabatini’s Bottleshop and Bar. Tickets are $30, and you get unlimited pizza and three drink tickets. To purchase tickets, email iceccoli@dvsclc.org or call 570-823-6799, ext. 283. The event is 21+. All proceeds will go to helping provide lifesaving services to survivors of domestic abuse. There will also be a large basket raffle. Tickets can be purchased at the door for an additional $5 at $35.

Walking club: Valley In Motion’s weekly walking club, the Connell Park Walking Club, will celebrate its 100th walk Saturday at 10 a.m. at Connell Park, 800 Gibbons St. A chapter of Walk with a Doc, the 100th walk will feature Lisa Rigau of Healthy Lifestyle Management, who will speak about the pillars of health before the group steps off on their walk. Fall block party: Scranton Tomorrow fall block party on North Washington Avenue, Saturday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m., participating businesses in the 100 block. The event is part of Scranton Tomorrow’s Fall into Downtown campaign and includes a full day of fashion, food and family fun, featuring retail sales and seasonal menu items, live music, sweets and treats, children’s activities and more.
