LACKAWANNA COUNTY, Pa. — On Saturday, Winterfest returned to Lackawanna State Park in North Abington Township.

Visitors got a chance to try a range of hands-on and outdoor activities that organizers say are designed to help them make the most of the winter landscape.

“It’s that ability to get out in the wintertime, um, in what is historically more of a summer thought process to, to bring people out and show, show them that these parks are open year-round,” said the park manager, Lee Dillon.

Families got a chance to try snowshoes, join a guided hike, birdwatch, and cook at a campfire at Winterfest in Lackawanna County.
