FAIRLESS HILLS, Pa. (WPVI) — Pennsbury High School was placed on lockdown Saturday after Falls Township Police were notified by the FBI about an online threat of violence targeting the campus.

The school district announced the lockdown just after 10 a.m. Saturday morning, stating that they believed the threat to be credible.

According to the Pennsbury School District, sports teams and community groups were inside the building at the time.

Safety protocols were immediately activated, and participants were secured safely inside.

Police quickly identified the individual connected to the online threat.

Investigators determined the person did not have access to weapons and had no plan to carry out violence.

As a result, law enforcement concluded the threat was not credible.

Police tell Action News that no one was taken into custody.

At 10:30 a.m., Falls Township Police reopened the high school campus and allowed activities to resume.

Superintendent Dr. Thomas A. Smith thanked Falls Township Police for their quick response.

“We want to extend our thanks to the Falls Township police department and law enforcement from our surrounding communities for their quick action and continued partnership in keeping our schools safe.”
