OBITUARY
November 9, 1961 – February 9, 2026
Michael S. Broome of Womelsdorf, PA, passed away on February 9, 2026, at the age of 64. Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, Michael was the son of the late George N. Broome and Joan (Greig) Broome. He graduated from Wilson High School in 1979.
Michael was a proud fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. He carried his love of his team as well as his love for cars with him always. Michael worked many years as a bartender at the Inn at Reading, and various other locations, a job very much enjoyed. He then finished off his career working as a truck driver.
Michael is survived by his sister, Susan Broome, wife of Dean Horning. Susan would like to extend her sincere thanks to Jim, Mary, and the rest of Michael’s neighbors that provided him with compassion and friendship. He will be missed by many and remembered dearly for his bright smile.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the West Wyomissing Fire Company on Saturday, February 28, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Helping Harvest Food Bank at https://helpingharvest.org/donate/
